Official English With 56 House Supporters

ProEnglish is very pleased to announce that right now there are 56 supporters of HR 997 – The English Language Unity Act of 2017 – in the United States House of Representatives.

HR 997 was originally authored by Rep. Steve King, who also has made some very important floor remarks about it, and the bill has added 55 co-sponsors, including the latest, Rep. Dana Rohrabacher, for a current total of 56 House supporters.

Even during the August recess, ProEnglish is lobbying congressional staff members on Capitol Hill to add to the list of the 56 supporters of HR 997.

HR 997 designates English as the nation’s official language of governmental operations and also establishes a uniform language requirement for the citizen naturalization process.

Please urge your congressman to support HR 997 if he or she has not already done so!
