Rep. Virginia Foxx Cosponsors The English Language Unity Act of 2017

The English Language Unity Act (H.R. 997) has gained another cosponsor!  Rep. Virginia Foxx (VA-5) becomes the 14th cosponsor of Rep. Steve King’s official English, making 15 total sponsors in Congress.

ProEnglish praised the initial introduction of House Resolution 997 (“The English Language Unity Act”) by U.S. Rep. Steve King, R-Iowa. It designates English as the nation’s official language of governmental operations and establishes a uniform language requirement for the citizen naturalization process.

The good news is…. We have never seen a greater opportunity to make English our official language than now. Not only do Republicans control Congress and the White House, President-elect Donald Trump and Mike Pence have both been outspoken supporters of English language policies.

If your Representative has not cosponsored H.R. 997, you can ask them to do so here.
