The English Language Unity Act Gains Six More Cosponsors

The English Language Unity Act (H.R. 997) is off to a great start in 2017!

As of today, six more members of Congress have cosponsored H.R. 997, bringing the total number of cosponsors to 13 plus Rep. Steve King, (the author of the bill)

ProEnglish would like to thank (top left to bottom right) Rep. Phil Roe TN-1, Rep. Ken Calvert CA-42, Rep. Barry Loudermilk GA-11, Rep, Tom McClintock CA-4, Rep. Steven Palazzo MS-4, and Rep. Michael Turner OH-10 for cosponsoring H.R. 997.

ProEnglish praised the initial introduction of House Resolution 997 (“The English Language Unity Act”) by U.S. Rep. Steve King, R-Iowa. It designates English as the nation’s official language of governmental operations and establishes a uniform language requirement for the citizen naturalization process.

If your Representative has not cosponsored H.R. 997, you can ask them to here.
