ProEnglish Congratulates President Trump and Vice President-Elect Vance
ProEnglish would like to congratulate President-elect Donald Trump on his victory in the 2024 Presidential Election. His victory is certainly one of the greatest political comebacks in the history of our country.
President-elect Trump has long made immigration one of the central planks in his policy platform. His recent electoral victory can in no small part be attributed to his strong commitment to resolving our current immigration crisis. In the past, President-elect Trump has linked an overhaul of the immigration system with support for English-language fluency among immigrants to increase assimilation and national unity.
We’d also like to congratulate his running mate, Vice President-elect JD Vance, who is a staunch supporter of official English legislation. As the junior senator from Ohio, Vance was the chief sponsor of the English Language Unity Act (S. 1109) in the United States Senate.
In a previous meeting with ProEnglish board member Phil Kent, Vice President-elect Vance emphasized the importance of official English legislation, calling it “common-sense” and “a cornerstone of American culture for over 250 years.”
ProEnglish is delighted to have such strong allies for our cause in the White House. With a Republican controlled Congress and a resounding electoral victory, Trump and Vance will have the opportunity to implement much of their policy agenda.
As we mentioned in our Fall 2024 Newsletter, now is the time to act to ensure official English becomes the law of the land. We look forward to working with the incoming Trump administration to make that a reality.
