ProEnglish Featured On WMAL Radio Show In Washington

ProEnglish Executive Director Stephen Guschov was a recent guest on WMAL’s morning-drive radio show in Washington called “Mornings on the Mall.” Listen below:

Guschov spoke with show co-hosts Vince Coglianese and Mary Walter about a variety of official English issues, including the recent articles in the Washington Times and Newsmax that featured ProEnglish and the fight to repeal former President Bill Clinton’s onerous Executive Order 13166 with a new Executive Order signed by President Donald Trump.

The three also discussed the fact that President Trump has frequently stated: “We have a country where to assimilate, you have to speak English.” It was also noted that Vice President Pence co-sponsored the English Language Unity Act on 5 separate occasions when he was in Congress as a representative from Indiana.

As well, Guschov informed Coglianese and Walter that at a recent White House press briefing, in response to a question from John Gizzi of Newsmax, White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders stated that making English the official language of government “is the position of the White House.”
