Official English Bill Adds 55 Co-sponsors

Rep. Steve King’s bill, H.R. 997, The English Language Unity Act of 2017 has reached a milestone!  H.R. 997, now has 55 co-sponsors, with the author of the bill, Rep. Steve King, the official English bill has 56 supporters in Congress.

ProEnglish praised the initial introduction of House Resolution 997 (“The English Language Unity Act”) by U.S. Rep. Steve King, R-Iowa. It designates English as the nation’s official language of governmental operations and establishes a uniform language requirement for the citizen naturalization process.
