Trump’s Pick for HHS Secretary Staunch Supporter of Official English
ProEnglish, the nation’s leading advocates of Official English, are pleased with President-elect Donald Trump’s nomination of U.S. Representative Tom Price (R-GA 6th District) to his cabinet as Secretary of Health and Human Services.
Congressman Price has been a staunch advocate of Official English policies. His dedication to promoting America’s melting pot has been shown by his co-sponsoring of H.R. 997, the English Language Unity Act, which would make English our official language, six times since 2004 when he took office.
In 2010, ProEnglish awarded Rep. Price, the Theodore Roosevelt American Unity Award for the 111th Congress. The award is given biennially to recognize the legislator in every Congress whose leadership in working to preserve and protect the nation’s unity through our common English language best exemplifies U.S. President Theodore Roosevelt’s commitment to American unity. The recipient is chosen by ProEnglish’s national board of directors.
With proven advocates of official English like Rep. Tom Price being appointed to the new Administration, the future is bright for Official English!
