ARLINGTON, VA – ProEnglish, an Arlington, Va.-based national organization that advocates for English as the official language of government at the state and federal level, announced today that Robert Vandervoort of Washington, D.C., has been named as its new executive director.

ProEnglish Board Chairman Dr. Rosalie Porter said, “That the Board unanimously voted to hire Mr. Vandervoort is a tribute to his skills as a longtime political, campaign and legislative consultant on Capitol Hill. He also compiled a distinguished record as an attorney who worked from 2006 to 2010 with his own Chicago-based firm of Perez and Vandervoort.”

Vandervoort worked for Delegate Neil Parrott of Annapolis, Md., and before that with U.S. Rep. Robert Aderholt of Alabama and former U.S. Sen. Phil Gramm of Texas. In 2005 Vandervoort received his Juris Doctor Degree from the DePaul University College of Law, where he was an active member of the Federalist Society and the Phi Alpha Delta legal fraternity.. He received a Bachelor of Arts in History and International Relations degree from Boston University in 1995.
