Newest Cosponsors of Official English bill

Congressmen Austin Scott (Georgia), Dave Brat (Virginia), and Tim Murphy (Pennsylvania) are the newest Cosponsors of the Official English bill (H.R. 997)

ProEnglish congratulates Congressman Austin Scott of Georgia’s 8th Congressional district, Congressman Dave Brat of Virginia’s 7th Congressional district, and Congressman Tim Murhpy of Pennsylvania’s 18th Congressional district for becoming the 67th, 68th, and 69th cosponsors of the English Language Unity Act (H.R. 997).

The bill now has 70 total sponsors.

If enacted, the English Language Unity Act would make English the official language of the Federal Government.

Congressman Steve King was the original sponsor of the bill.
