Congressman Collins opposes proposal to use bilingual ballots in Gwinnett and Hall counties
ProEnglish supports Congressman Doug Collins (GA-09) for opposing a proposal to use bilingual ballots in Gwinnett and Hall counties. In a press release (see below), Collins observes that bilingual ballots in these counties would “unnecessarily burden counties that are already facing budget constraints” and “create a new burden on counties with an initiative that will have little impact for its citizens.”Collins emphasizes that “…American citizens already have the right to bring translators with them to polling places” and that opposing bilingual ballots “would help prevent money from being wasted on duplicative publication of materials in multiple languages, even if those materials are rarely used.”
