Illegal Alien Involved in Fatal Florida Truck Crash Failed CDL Ten Times

It was recently revealed that Harjinder Singh, the illegal alien accused in a fatal truck crash in Florida this past August, allegedly failed his CDL test ten times over a two month span from March-May 2023.

This new revelation was published in a report from Fox News, who stated they received the information from a senior official in the Florida Attorney General’s office.

Despite his prior results, in 2023 the state of Washington granted Singh a CDL license, and California later on granted him another one. The state of Florida has taken action by suing both states over this issue.

ProEnglish has strongly made the case for passing more stringent English proficiency laws for both commercial and non-commercial drivers. To keep our roads safe, all drivers must be able to understand street signs and road instructions.

There are currently several pieces of legislation in Congress, including S.2114, S.2690, and H.R.5177, which would ensure truck drivers are fluent in English. Several members of Congress recently co-authored a letter sent to the federal Department of Transportation demanding an investigation into CDL mills that dole out licenses without ensuring fluency in English.

This is a common sense policy, and we strongly urge our political leaders to take action and ensure a horrific incident like this doesn’t happen again.
