2. How is ProEnglish different from US English and English First?

Answer - While ProEnglish, English First, and US English are all dedicated to promoting official English, ProEnglish has become a leading defender of our nation’s language on the federal, state, and local level.

Answer - ProEnglish is located in Arlington, VA.  ProEnglish has active members in every state. If you are interested in becoming more involved in your state, please contact our office.

4. Why don't more organizations combine efforts and resources? How do I know which organization to support?

Answer - Organizations such as ProEnglish and English First etc. do keep in close contact with each other.  Each organization fits a niche and fits it well. When we have an opportunity to get together and discuss strategies, we do.

Answer - Yes, ProEnglish is a 501(c)(3) non-partisan, non-profit organization that does not support, endorse or oppose candidates. As a 501(c)(3), ProEnglish is able to spend an insubstantial part of its budget on direct and grassroots lobbying.

12. How can I email my local newspaper, radio, and TV stations?

Answer - Click on this link: http://capwiz.com/proenglish/dbq/media/

Enter your zip code and click "Go."

Scroll down to the bottom of the page.
Click "Compose Message."

These emails will be routed to the Managing Editors of the papers/stations you choose.

13. What is ProEnglish’s stance on immigration?

Answer - ProEnglish is a language advocacy group. Although official English is often tied to

English. We oppose blanket amnesty because it would allow 11 million or more immigrants to
bypass the English proficiency exam required for citizenship and in turn cost taxpayers millions
of dollars for multilingual translation services.

contributions are received from individuals. Donations to ProEnglish are tax deductible.
ProEnglish does not receive any funds from any federal or state government.

Answer - Yes, all contributions are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law. ProEnglish is classified by the Internal Revenue Service as a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization.

16. Please send me financial information about your organization?

Answer - ProEnglish has received a two-star rating for organizational efficiency from
